The Emerald City

Andy and I started our weekend off with a 6 mile run & some Cyclone spirit and ended it in the Emerald City.

We were able to catch both the Cyclone and Hawkeye games downtown this weekend while enjoying some nachos (hence the necessary run) and were finally able to organize our spare bedroom a little bit. Andy is happy to have an area to read, write or otherwise hide from me when necessary :)!

For those of you paying close attention, yes, that is a photo memorial of the truck thanks to our wedding photographers :)!

On Sunday we were super excited to hit the road and head to Seattle. My Uncle Paul was in town for work and we had made plans to meet him for a Mariners game. The drive was relatively easy - a few turns, 90 miles on I-5, two episodes of This American Life and we were in Seattle and ready to see a friendly face!

The game was a lot of fun, the company great and the stadium very cool. We stayed until arund the 8th inning and then headed to Pyramid Brewery for a beer and some food. {Might we suggest the ThunderHead IPA?}

From there Andy and I felt as if coffee was necessary before the drive home so we went to the Pike's Place Starbucks and were able to walk through the market as they were closing up. We are excited to explore this city further when we head there next month for a half-marathon!
